Canada Council’s 2025 recipient of the prestigious Virginia Parker Prize and CBC 30 Under 30 honoree, Joanne Yesol Choi is an acclaimed Korean-Canadian cellist based in Toronto, recognized for her dynamic contributions to chamber music and music education. As a founding member of the award-winning Dior Quartet, she has performed on major international stages and artistic residencies across North America and Europe.
Beyond performance, Joanne is the Founder and Artistic Director of Solegio Arts, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to expanding access and representation in higher music education. She also serves as Social Media Manager for Music Toronto, where she contributes to audience engagement and the digital storytelling of one of Canada’s leading classical presenters. Joanne is a published children’s book author.
